We are located right where you can relax and tour the area attractions, on foot and at your leisure. |

of the U.S. mainland.
That's why the largest telescope (433") and observatory in the world is located here in the Davis Mountains. So definitely bring your binoculars or telescopes for crystal clear viewing of our wonderful night skies. |

within a half hours drive.
Horse back riding can be arranged for your visit on the day you arrive.
We can also arrange for a Rio Grand river rafting trip of one day or overnight ride down the river among the beautiful canyons of the Big Bend.

HWY 17/118 Southbound or HWY 17/118 Northbound....We are located on this main road...in the town of Fort Davis, 1/4 Mile North of the County Courthouse or 3/4 Mile South of the Old Fort Davis NHS.
Driving here from El Paso: Take I-10 east to Van Horn (119 miles). From Van Horn take Highway 90 south to Valentine (43 miles). Continue on past Valentine for about 7 miles, then turn left on Highway 505. Take this road till you come to Highway 166 (about 6-7 miles) and turn east (right) onto this road. Follow it through some fantastic Davis Mountains ranch country until it joins Highway 17 about 2 miles south of Fort Davis. GPS Location: 520 State Street, Fort Davis Texas 79734 |
Driving here from Midland or Odessa: Take I-20 west to Pecos (76 miles). At Pecos, take Highway 17 south to I-10 (34 miles). Take I -10 west for 2 miles until you come to Balmorhea. Take Highway 17 south to Fort Davis (37 miles).
Driving here on I-10 from cities such as Austin, San Antonio, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, San Marcos, etc: Take I-10 west until you get to Balmorhea. Take Highway 17 south to Fort Davis, (37 miles).
Getting here from Alpine: Take Highway 118 north out of town for 23 miles. This will lead you directly to Fort Davis.
Getting here from Marfa: Take Highway 17 north out of town for 21 miles. This will lead you directly to Fort Davis. Ph: 432-426-2250
